Book Review: “Grace Looks Amazing On You: 100 Days of Reflecting God’s Love” by Amy Seiffert

When the opportunity arose to review Amy Seiffert’s brand new devotional, Grace Looks Amazing On You: 100 Days of Reflecting God’s Love, I had no idea what to expect. I was not already familiar with Amy or any of her previous writings, but I decided to go ahead and review the book, anyway - its description at least sounded awesome. Boy, let me tell you! I was beyond blessed, encouraged, and convicted by this absolute gem of a devotional! Here is its official description:

What if today is the perfect time to notice God’s grace in one another?
Women are so often weighed down by comparison, anxiety, and fear that the idea that grace could look amazing on them feels unbelievable. But all around us are flashes of grace, shining examples of God’s love.

Amy Seiffert says it’s the everyday moments that Jesus shines through: making time for a friend even when your to-do list is pages long; apologizing to your neighbor when you don’t want to admit you are wrong; opening the Bible when your soul feels hollow and empty.

Making the choice to accept God’s limitless love no matter what and reflecting it back to the world around you—friend, that’s when His grace looks amazing on you.

A perfect gift to affirm and encourage any woman, Grace Looks Amazing on You is a timeless Christian message packed with personal story and reflection, Scripture, and deep biblical truth. This 100-day devotional will help you change your perspective so you can confidently radiate the grace of Christ.

Oftentimes, devotional books are notorious for not being all that deep - for just offering a really quick snippet of a verse, a cute but shallow thought, and a nice prayer at the end. This devotional book, however, is nothing like that! While each day’s passage of Scripture is typically just a verse or two long, Amy nevertheless is very careful to take into consideration the full context of that passage, and handling God’s Word is clearly something she takes very seriously.

Each of the 100 daily devotions begins with a passage from Scripture, continues into Amy’s personal unpacking of that passage (complete with personal stories and analogies that drive the point of the passage home in amazing ways!), and a prayer or thought for reflection at the end.

Not only is this devotional deep, thought-provoking, encouraging, inspiring, and faith-building, it’s also beautiful! The artwork and design of it makes it not only a beauty to behold, but also the perfect devotional book to gift to someone else (don’t forget - Mother’s Day is right around the corner!).

Amy dedicated 10 devotionals each to the following 10 topics of confidence, soul care, contentment, practice, strength, community, refinement, overcoming, faithfulness, and trust, making it the perfect devotional for yourself and any woman in your life. I highly recommend it! It is sure to build up your faith, even in just a few minutes a day!
