Book Review: “The Society of Extraordinary Raccoon Society” by Randall Goodgame

We have become such a fan around here of Randall Goodgame’s Slugs and Bugs series of books, so when the opportunity arose to review his newest book,”The Society of Extraordinary Raccoon Society”, I jumped at the chance.

In this delightful new children’s book you meet a community of raccoons who are determined to break free from the stereotype of all raccoons being thieves. Instead of continuing on in their thieving ways, they decide to begin giving away all the things which they had stolen from others.

What is so great about this book (besides the really heart-warming stories of the raccoons helping others!) is that it teaches kids to not just be hearers of the Word only, but also doers, seeking to honor God by doing what is right and living a life that is obedient to Him and a blessing to others.

The illustrations in this book are as cute as they can be, while the lyrical nature of the written words make it so fun to read aloud. I highly recommend this book, as it will not only teach your children some rather important lessons, but it will provide the whole family with some sweet and fun read-aloud memories, as well!
