The Husband of the Blogger LinkUp Part 1: Meet the Husband

April 27, 2025 by Rebekah Hargraves Leave a Comment

I am so excited about this new monthly LinkUp post I’m starting! My dear friend Kayla of The Accidental Nomad Life Blog started this fun idea where a handful of us blogging friends are going to be doing these interview posts with our husbands the third Thursday of every month (except for this month - this one’s the 4th Thursday! 😉 ). You can find our other friends who are joining us at the sites below:

Sarah from Liberty, Grace, Love

Crystal from Pennies and Playdough

Amber from The Homemade Helpmeet

Hailey of This Life We Love

Caitlyn from Flannelgraphs

I’m super excited about this, because my husband plays such a huge part in this ministry behind the scenes, and I’m excited to bring him more into the light now and introduce him to y’all! For several months now, he has done all of my blog art work, he designed my new header, he fixed my site when it mysteriously crashed over one March weekend due to an update issue and I was about in hysterics over it, and there would definitely be no Home and Hearth podcast were it not for him - he composed the intro and outro music, taught me how to use GarageBand, and does some of the editing of each episode, as well. He’s basically a crucial part of Hargraves Home and Hearth. 😉

So, without further ado, allow me to introduce to you my husband… 🙂

1. Who are you?

My name is Owen Hargraves. I’m a 26 year old husband & a father of two children 2 and under. I’m a civil engineer in the United States Air Force, and I currently serve in Chattanooga with the Tennessee Air National Guard. I work in the civilian sector as a CAD Draftsman for T.S. Raulston INC., a mechanical contracting company. My hobbies include singing, acting, voice impersonations, gaming, running, and cooking.

2. What’s your favorite thing about my blog/blogging?

It allows me to take part in your pursuits as well as dabble in my computer designs and artwork.

3. Do you have a favorite blog to read, if so, what?

Yes. Hargraves Home & Hearth (it’s also the only one I read).

hehe This is very true! I feel pretty honored. 😉 He actually does read each and every article I write before I post it on the blog or email it to someone else as a guest post or submit it as a post on the other two sites I regularly contribute to. Not because he makes me (because he so doesn’t, lol!), but because I want him to know what I’m writing and processing through and want his input and advice. He’s also great with editing for grammar and punctuation.

4. What’s your favorite thing about our life together?

The times we find to get away from the kids!

This cracked me up. Can you tell we have two kiddos 2 and under? 😉 He’s an adoring father, but husbands and wives just need date nights sometimes! Can I get an amen? 😉

5. What is one thing you want my followers to know about you?

I do voice-over work.

Yes! Here’s an announcement if you need an audiobook recorded or voices for cartoon work or ads or anything like that. He’s crazy talented (Anna prefers to have him read to her, because he does separate crazy awesome voices for each character in her books!) and is embarking on a journey of voiceover work!

Well, that was so fun!! 🙂 I hope you feel like you know my guy a little better now. Join me next month for another part in this interview series. 🙂

And, can I just say - I love the artwork Kayla created for this linkup! I feel like it was made for us - what with our last name being Hargraves, we have big Hs like the one in the picture everywhere in our house! hehe

If you are a blogger yourself and would like to join this linkup, just leave your link in the comments! We would love to hear from you and get to know your families more, as well! And, be sure to check out the posts from the ladies mentioned above!
