When I was pregnant with my firstborn, I heard someone mention the idea of meditating on various Bible verses while in labor as a way to help yourself cope with the pain and keep your eyes focused on the Lord and His strength. It sounded like an awesome idea, so during my third trimester, I took to looking up as many verses as I could on the topics of strength and courage and wrote them all out on little pink 3×5 index cards for my husband to read to me when the big day came and I found myself in the midst of labor.
Today, I want to share with you, in no particular order, those verses I scribbled down to be used during labor. It is my hope that they prove helpful to you as a starting place for your own compilation of verses for use in your own labor and delivery.
