Hey, friends!
So, I have an announcement to make in regards to the podcast and the schedule at which we will be releasing new episodes from now on, at least for the foreseeable future.
Since the podcast first released on April 26th, it has been a weekly podcast, with new episodes releasing every single Wednesday. Well, as mentioned on this week’s episode, in case you missed it, we are entering a new season of life now which will necessitate me pulling back a bit to a new biweekly schedule, with a new podcast episode being released every other Wednesday instead.
The reason for this is that I will now be taking on the care and homeschooling Monday-Friday of a sweet little 7 year old girl, Addi (you may have seen her before in my Instagram feed 🙂 ), who is the daughter of a dear family friend of ours. I’ve actually babysat Addi off and on since she was 5 weeks old, but in more recent years, dear Mrs. Morse, who you heard on episode 2 of the podcast, had been undertaking her day-to-day care and homeschooling during the week. The Morses, however, are moving this weekend to pastor a new church up in North Dakota (insert sobs here!), which leaves Addi without a regular caregiver during the day. Considering our history with Addi and her mama and our love for them both, we feel called by the Lord to take on this work ourselves for the foreseeable future.
While I am humbled to be able to undertake such a great task for Addi and her mama and am excited about the extra playmate Anna will now enjoy having over on a daily basis during the week, this new schedule will nevertheless result in some ministry changes online, as rather than having a few hours to myself every morning to work while my littles sleep, Addi will be arriving each morning M-F only about half an hour after Owen leaves for work. That morning work time, then, that I would normally have been dedicating to writing articles and show notes for the podcast, doing research for podcast episodes, editing podcast episodes, etc. etc. is now going to have to be scattered here and there throughout the day, however possible, as opposed to being a chunk of time to myself in the morning.
Which, if I think about it, is nothing but good practice and preparation for when I will be undertaking the homeschooling of my own children, anyway, and dealing with naps dropped and earlier wake up times as they grow! I always knew I shouldn’t get too attached to those hours of quiet I had been having each morning. 😉 hehe
So, in order to still keep up with my writing on the blog, the writing deadlines I have for my work as a monthly contributor on Raising Homemakers and the Young Wives Club, and work as an occasional guest-poster on other additional sites, I need to pull back on the podcast just a bit.
What You Can Expect
Granted, there are a lot of changes taking place in my daily schedule at home starting next week, but I am not disappearing from the Home and Hearth ministry! Far from it. As much as I absolutely feel called to serve and love on Addi and her sweet mama in this new way, I also still feel just as called by God to continue work in this ministry He has given me. So, here’s what you can expect:
- biweekly episodes of the podcast to be released every other Wednesday
- new articles to be published on the blog every Friday
- new articles to be published once a month on both the Young Wives Club and Raising Homemakers sites
- monthly e-mail newsletters to be sent to subscribers the last Friday of every month (beginning today!)
- occasional guest posts on other sites as time and other writing deadlines allow
Thank you so much for understanding and for continuing to follow along with me in this fun podcasting journey! It is my prayer that with this new schedule, the podcast still continues to “edify, equip, and encourage” you in your journey of Biblical womanhood.
God bless!
~Rebekah~
