I had the joy of having Alexandra Kaval come on the podcast a few months back to chat about living a life of purpose, intention, and grace. Today, I’m so thrilled to have her come on the blog to guest post on the topic of . Praying that you walk away as encouraged and inspired by her words as I was!
~~~~~
Are you passionate about pursuing an intentional life? One where you’re living in alignment with your purpose?
Or perhaps you’re driven by doing. Maybe goal setting and marking items off your to-do list fires you up!
Sister, success and achievement feels good, doesn’t it? Seeing the fruit of our labor is powerful!
If you’re a business owner, you may see success as increased revenue. If you’re a blogger or podcaster, maybe to you, success looks like an increased number of listeners, viewers, and/or followers.
The Numbers Game
Numbers are a great indicator, but lean in for a second, sister- they aren’t everything.
Yes - success isn’t all about numbers.
(A little confused, or skeptical even?)
I totally get it. When I started Grace Space Christian Coaching, I was very focused on the number of clients I was bringing in, the number of social media followers I had, things like that.
Don’t get me wrong- it’s important to be aware of those metrics, but we don’t want to be dictated by them.
Numbers may be drivers, but let’s not let them be dictators.
Our definition of success can be so much more.
Understanding True Success
After some deep reflection and prayer, the Lord gently reminded me that instead, success is about making an impact for God and His kingdom.
Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
I began looking at success as how I serve others and how I bring them closer to Jesus - and that made what I was doing so much more of a joy. It gave my work a sense of purpose that lasts.
As Michelle Myers of She Works His Way has shared, we have an audience of one to please - and that’s God.
So with that in mind…
What is your definition of success?
What is the eternal impact of what you’re doing?
(Or what could it be?)
Sister, success will come when you serve from your heart and let God lead.
Now, consider what needs to become a priority to make that happen.
And perhaps even more importantly… identify what it is that He’s calling you to let go of.
Redefining our definition of success can be a challenge- I completely get that. But when we look at what we’re doing through God’s eyes, we have the opportunity to experience (and share!) Him and His kingdom in ways far more powerful than we could ever ask or imagine.
