Review + Giveaway: “Brave Beauty: Finding the Fearless You” by Lynn Cowell

It’s time for another fun book review and giveaway, friends! 🙂 Today we have a lovely devotional book that you are sure to want to check out for the little girl (age 8-12) in your life.

This devotional book is entitled “Brave Beauty: Finding the Fearless You” by Lynn Cowell of Proverbs 31 Ministries. This book is beautiful inside and out and is comprised of 100 mini chapters covering a whole host of topics including:

What I love about this book is that it combines two aspects of how I want my daughter to be as she grows up. On the one hand, I do want her to love and embrace beauty, to delight in her femininity, and to take care of the body God has given her. On the other hand, I also want her to be strong and courageous, brave and bold, for Christ. The problem with much of the material geared towards girls today is that it is an either/or rather than a both/and - either they overemphasize outward beauty and self-esteem, or else they turn all warrior girl-power on us and forget the winsome beauty and softness of femininity. I want my daughter to be strong and beautiful, warm and courageous, soft and unwavering for truth. I think “Brave Beauty” will aid me in my mission to help my daughter grow into that kind of young woman. So, thank you, Lynn Cowell! 🙂
